Liverpool keen on eyes for Trabzonspor goalkeeper

Liverpool have reportedly set a bid of around €15million for the transfer of Turkish side Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

Though, the Turkish giants have turned the offer down as they don’t want to sell the 23-year-old goalkeeper this winter and hope to wait until the summer to strike an agreement, according to Sabah.

The Merseyside Reds could do with a new backup ‘keeper now, though, with the club perhaps understandably keen to have more long-term opportunities in that department than the ageing Adrian.

The Spanish goalkeeper has performed well when called upon this campaign, but it makes sense that Jurgen Klopp’s side might view Ugurcan Cakir as a player with more potential to improve and create a more meaningful long-term contribution at Anfield.

Ugurcan Cakir has shone with Trabzonspor, and Sabah suggests his club think his price tag could go up if he plays well with Turkey at Euro 2020 this summer.

It will be interesting to see if the Merseyside Reds are willing to wait that long, or if they try to sign someone else instead of in the coming weeks.
