Jurgen Klopp is keen on the idea of joining Sander Berge, according to VG in Norway.
Liverpool came up against Berge on Tuesday night, as he began in the middle of the park for Genk at Anfield.
The Merseyside Reds may have ended up winning 2-1 in their Champions League clash, but Klopp was reportedly affected with Berge.
It is reported that the Liverpool boss spoke to Berge on Tuesday, saying: ” You are an interesting player, a very interesting player.”
There have been rumours that Genk could sell Berge in the winter transfer window, which may further spring Jurgen Klopp into action.
Liverpool were comfortably superior to Genk in their two meetings in Group E, but Sander Berge caught the eye with his performances.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was a classy presence in the middle of the park, holding his own up against the Merseyside Reds’ more well-known stars.
The 18-time capped Norway international is undoubtedly a big talent, and in terms of being a long-term acquisition, he could be a new capture by Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Berge’s contract ends in 2021, so this may be Genk’s chance to earn good money for one of their most prized assets.
