Schalke 04 midfielder Max Meyer is reportedly waiting on an offer from AC Milan after snubbing a move to Hoffenheim.
The Schalke and German playmaker is one of the most coveted young players in Europe and is set to be available to leave the club as a free agent next month.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on Meyer’s signature for several years, with Jurgen Klopp is believed to a huge fan of German starlet.
Klopp tried to sign Meyer during his time at Dortmund and continued to monitor his progress after the arrival of Liverpool.
A move to Italy would be a shock, considering the interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.
German starlet’s agent Fabio Parisi is the driving force behind the Serie A move and a deal between the player’s camp and AC Milan was made in the past days.
The persistent transfer speculation over his future has affected Meyer’s form at Schalke and he was suspended by the club’s sporting director Christian Heidel in April.
Meyer did not feature in Schalke’s final games of the 2017/18 campaign and will be officially a free agent next month.
