Liverpool in danger to miss out signing of in-demand Dortmund forward

Chelsea have submitted an official offer for Liverpool transfer target Christian Pulisic.

Despite the Blues fine start to the 2018-19 campaign, Maurizio Sarri is keen to strengthen his squad in January, and the 20-year-old has emerged as a top target.

The youngster has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, having starred for Dortmund Borussia over the past two seasons.

The Evening Standard says Chelsea spoke to the German side on Friday and asked to sign US international when the transfer window re-opens in January.

But it is suggested the bid from the English club was well below Dortmund’s asking price, which has been set at £70 million.

Christian Pulisic feels his displays warrant a big-money move and is refusing to consider an extension, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2020.

The Blues are set to sign a top-class winger with Eden Hazard strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Liverpool fans are hopeful their club can secure the move for the winger with the player himself keen on the move to Liverpool rather than Stamford Bridge.
