Liverpool have reportedly identified Dutch forward Memphis Depay as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane.
The Merseyside Reds head-coach Jurgen Klopp is well-stocked for options in the final third. However, it has been reported that Sadio Mane could depart from Anfield during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp’s side keen on to keep the Senegal international on Merseyside, however, according to L’Equipe, the English top-tier leaders have started looking for alternative transfer options.
Klopp is believed to be keeping tabs on Depay’s future at Lyon, with the Netherlands international likely to be keen on making move to another big team in the coming months.
The 25-year-old creative winger has just over two years left on his current deal, effectively departing from Lyon to consider offers for the forward if he has no desire to extend his contract.
The Dutch forward has managed to found the back of the net seven times and provided 12 assists from 36 appearences in Ligue 1 and the Champions League during the current season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal hold a strong interest in Liverpool long-term target Lorenzo Insigne.
Liverpool are believed to be in the market for offensive reinforcements this summer with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been both rumoured with a switch to Real Madrid and Napoli forward has been one of the top names in Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist, however, now Arsenal have joined race and the Reds might to have to look elsewhere.
According to reports from Italy in February, as cited by the Merseyside Reds official website, the Reds had a £61million bid turned down rejected for the 27-year old forward by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
