Liverpool are believed to be ready to challenge West Ham for Leander Dendoncker’s signature in the summer if Emre Can departs the club.
The Belgian midfielder was linked with a move to the London Stadium in January, but the Hammers couldn’t complete a deal despite the player wanting to move. They desperately need to strengthen the middle of the park.
Dendoncker was said to want to seal a move to east London, but the club didn’t meet the Belgian club’s £20million valuation.
The Hammers are believed to have offered just £4.4million upfront for the youngster and then they would pay £8.8m, paid in two separate instalments, at the end of the campaign.
According to Transfermarketweb, Jurgen Klopp wants to add the 22-year-old to his squad if, as expected, Can leaves the club at the end of the campaign.
The midfielder’s contract is set to expire in the summer, so Juventus and Bayern Munich are believed to be keen on signing him. Meanwhile, the Reds have already agreed to a deal with RB Leipzig to sign Naby Keita. But Klopp is said to want to strengthen his midfield even more.
