Tottenham and Liverpool have been given a boost after Spanish giants Atletico Madrid cooled their interest in AC Milan winger Suso.
The Spaniard has found his best form last season and it has led him to be linked with a move to hosts of European clubs.
La Liga runner-ups had expressed a strong interest in securing the services of Spaniard, who began his youth career with Spanish club Cadiz before making the switch to Liverpool back in 2010.
However, Atletico Madrid have since splashed out on Monaco winger Thomas Lemar – who was a top target for Arsenal and Liverpool.
And as a result, according to Tuttosport, the Spanish club are no longer in the running to make a move for Suso.
That will come as good news to both Tottenham and Liverpool, who have been tracking the youngster for some time now.
The Merseyside Reds are keen on to re-sign Suso, three years after they sold him to AC Milan for £1m.
The Spurs, meanwhile, are looking to bring in an attacking midfielder ahead of the next season in order to compete for Premier League title.
