Manchester United and Liverpool have been told they have to pay around £90million to secure services of Kai Havertz from Bundesliga outfits Bayer Leverkusen.

Germany playmaker is tipped to be one of the top transfer targets next summer for hosts of great teams.

Indeed, speaking to Sportbuzzer, the 20-year-old said: “I am happy to stay at Leverkusen for one more year. What happens next summer will be experienced in the future.”

German international boss has been heavily tipped to make a big-money move to Anfield, however, now the Red Devils are believed to be the frontrunners to secure his services.

And while the 20-year-old star is contracted to Leverkusen until the summer of 2022, it is believed the German club are ready to cash in on a player who has managed to found back of the net 17 times.

That is according to the Sunday Express, who say Bundesliga outfits have told suitors they will have to pay around £90m for the midfielder.

The Red Devils, however, may opt to spend £90m on another Bundesliga ace Jadon Sancho who has been linked with a return to the Premier League.

German publication Kicker has previously claimed that Havertz is a serious target for Dortmund if they sell Jadon Sancho.

Previous reports from Germany also report that the Merseyside Reds decided against making a move for Kai Havertz and instead recruited two youth prospects in Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott.
