Man United have been boosted after it has appeared that Liverpool are not interested in joining Denis Zakaria, reports claim.
Sky Germany claims that the Merseyside Reds were said to be keeping tabs on the midfielder as well as Man United and Arsenal.
But now these claims have been shot down by The Athletic, who state Liverpool are not interested.
They announce that Jurgen Klopp is happy with his midfield alternatives and is therefore not on the lookout for another in January.
Links to Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth are also supposed to be honest.
Manchester boss is in the market for a midfielder after failing with summer transfers for Sean Longstaff and Declan Rice.
Denis Zakaria has been arguably Borussia Monchengladbach’s best player this campaign, as Marco Rose’s wonder package top the Bundesliga.
In that time the Swiss international has proved himself as one of the best midfielders in the German top-flight.
He usually performs as a defensive midfielder and could be eyed as the long-term replacement to Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian is currently recovering but is reportedly looking to find a new club.
He has fallen out of favour and could be set to depart in January.
Zakaria’s current deal runs until 2022, and he is valued by his club at around £50million.
