Liverpool and Premier League rivals Chelsea are reportedly interested in landing Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne and are likely to have a duel in pursuit of Italy international.
According to the British daily newspaper The Guardian, the Reds and the Blues are set for an interesting battle in the transfer market.
Lorenzo Insigne is the latest client of super agent Mino Raiola to be linked with a move, with the Partenopei forward being eyed by the Premier League duo.
The technically gifted attacker has had an interesting career thus far.
Like Marek Hamsik, Lorenzo has also stayed loyal to Napoli throughout his professional career, at least since breaking into the senior-team setup in the 2009-10 campaign and becoming a regular ultimately in the 2012-13 season.
While the Italian did finish top scorer in the 2013-14 campaign, he returned admirable numbers in the 2017-18 campaigns as well, with a total of 14 goals and as many assists in 48 matches.
The report iterates that the Serie A giants have verbally agreed to insert a £178 million release (buy-out) clause in Insigne’s contract, which would enable the management to protect their asset.
