Former Manchester United skipper Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will depart from Anfield “in the next 12 months”.
Egypt international forward has been in outstanding form for the Merseyside Reds since a 2017 move from Serie A giants, founding back of the net 72 times in 107 games in all competitions.
The 27-year-old forward still has four years left to run on his current contract. However, Neville has revealed that the Egypt international will soon depart from Anfield.
“Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already,” Neville told Sky Bet.
“He [Jamie Carragher] knows, he won’t say it. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it, you know when a player’s like…”.
Barcelona and Real Madrid were both rumoured with moves for the forward earlier this summer, while German champions Bayern Munich and Serie A giants Juventus have also previously been credited with a strong interest.
Salah has managed to found back of the net 44 times and 27 assists respectively in his two seasons with the Merseyside Reds and Egypt international is already off the mark for the 2019-20 season having netted against Norwich City last Friday. However, he has struggled against Southampton despite having a decent chance Egyptian failed to found back of the next in a 2-1 win over the Saints.
