Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly hopeful of reaching an agreement with Italian centre-back Daniele Rugani on a new deal to kill off the Blues lingering hopes of securing the services of centre-back.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have tabled a “pretty big offer” for the Italian centre-back during the summer transfer window, which Juve were quick to reject.
The Blues have refused to give up hope of landing the 24-year-old next year following Leonardo Bonucci’s arrival to the Allianz Stadium, however, Corriere dello Sport reported that they may be forced to look the team elsewhere.
According to the reports are believed to be ongoing between the player and team over a lucrative deal, with Massimiliano Allegri making to sign contract extension his top priority.
The 23-year-old Italian defender is already under contract with Juventus for the next three campaigns, has previously worked alongside the Blues boss Maurizio Sarri at Serie A giants Empoli.
