Jose Mourinho admits he has been impressed with Arsenal long-term target Ismaila Sarr and believes the Rennes forward is like Barcelona big money signing Ousmane Dembele.
Sarr has been one of Rennes’ forward this season founding back of the net 12 times and providing 11 assists in 48 games for the French outfits.
In March, reports in France suggested that the Gunners held talks with Ligue 1 club Rennes to discuss a contract for the 21-year-old forward as he was identified by their ex-head of recruitment Sven Mislintat as a potential signing to strengthen the Gunners offensive end.
But the North London club face a fight to secure the services of the Senegal international forward as he is also wanted by Italian giants AS Roma and AC Milan.
Mourinho, however, has indicated that the Gunners would be signing a player with huge potential if they win the race for his signature, however, has also revealed that he is a huge admirer of Nice’s right-sided forward Allan Saint-Maximin who has been also a target for hosts of European teams.
‘I can tell you that in the top three clubs in your league this season – Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and Lyon – you have extremely talented players who everyone knows already,’ Mourinho said in an interview with RMC.
‘If I speak [about players] I think that their agents will be very happy.
‘But for example, I like Allan Saint-Maximin, I like his speed, and I think Ismaila Sarr has a little bit of [Ousmane] Dembele in him.
‘There are a lot of players in Ligue 1 who have great potential.’
