Joe Cole has lifted the lid on his role how he helped Chelsea to sign Belgian superstar Eden Hazard.
The 26-year-old Belgian attacker has established himself as one of the best players in the English top-tier since his big-money move from Lille back in 2012.
Belgium international forward has opted to make the switch to Stamford Bridge despite strong interest from two Manchester Clubs.
Hazard has arrived in west London having inspired Lille to Ligue 1 title in 2011 before joining the Rafael Benitez squad.
Former Lille forward has scored 14 goals in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign back in 2014-15, last campaign he has scored 16 times and once again led the team to the Premier League glory in 2016/17 campaign.
The Belgian attacker has regularly been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona given his impressive performances with the Blues shirt.
Ex-Chelsea star Joe Cole has revealed how he convinced the Blues to sign Belgian superstar.
“I played with him in France with Lille,” said Cole on Sky Sports.
“They [Chelsea] rang me up and asked about him and I said ‘this kid is one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen’.
“If he stayed at Chelsea for 10 years, he will go down as Chelsea’s greatest ever player.
