AC Milan have been joined by rivals Inter Milan and Napoli in their interest in the struggling Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, a report claims.
Spanish media outlet Fichajes reported last week that Mesut could be a possible option for AC Milan in January, with Arsenal looking to get rid of the German star as soon as possible.
The former Germany international has undoubted quality, having amassed 43 goals and 74 assists in 233 games for Arsenal.
However, the star appears to not be in the immediate plans of their manager Unai Emery, who hinted earlier in the week that he’ll be allowed to leave in January.
According to Calciomercato.it, this has drawn the interest of three Serie A giants: namely AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli.
They state that the relationship between the Gunners and Ozil is ‘at historic lows’, confirming the midfielder is ‘no longer included in the plans of Emery’.
The outlet adds that Mesut could arrive in Serie A under ‘favourable economic conditions’, such as those that facilitated the move of Chile international Alexis Sanchez to Inter.
Director Zvonomir Boban revealed his regret at not adding more experience and quality, but there could be possible openings in January.
Meantime, Arsenal have entered the race to land Krylia Sovetov striker and rumoured Manchester United transfer target Aleksandr Sobolev, according to The Sun.
The talented forward has emerged on the transfer radar of several top teams after topping the goalscoring charts in the Russian Premier League this campaign, scoring 10 goals in 12 appearances.
