Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard who has currently in charge at Scottish giants was very impressed with Sheyi Ojo’s fine form in Rangers 3-1 win in the Europa League last week.
The 22-year-old has managed to found back of the net with an excellent goal and was probably the best player on the pitch.
Since moving to Scottish giants, Ojo has scored four goals in seven games and is already a key player of Gerrard’s starting XI – which is promising.
“I thought Sheyi was outstanding today,” Gerrard said.
“But Sheyi will take a lot of the plaudits and a lot of credit tonight. I think that’s the real Sheyi.
“If we can find that on a consistent basis and bottle that performance he’ll certainly make us stronger.”
The Merseyside Reds really hope the winger can excel north of the border and have an impact for them in the future.
He’s terrifically talented and has superb physical attributes. However, injuries have stunted his development so far and playing regular first-team football at Rangers could help him to return his career back on tracks.
If Ojo scores a hatful of goals, he may given a chance under Jurgen Klopp next summer – however, the stories of Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent suggest that in all likelihood – the idea will be to sell him for a higher profit.
The problem is, breaking into a strike-force that includes incredible trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino looks impossible.
