Willock, who has been in great form this summer, has reportedly caught the eye of the Bundesliga club but a deal is unlikely to happen.
Willock was one of the Gunners’ standout performers in his side’s recently concluded pre-season tour. The talented central midfielder hugely impressed in matches against Real Madrid as well as die Roten in a game that the Gunners won 2-1.
The 19-year-old penned a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium in November 2017 and recent showings will only push the club to nail him down on an even bigger contract.
Willock played six times for the Gunners last season and netted three goals, two of which came in a single match in the FA Cup.
With Unai Emery’s side facing another 12 months in the competition, Willock can expect a ton of playing time and if he can continue his impressive displays, he might even break into the EPL team in the very near future.
Unai has shown that he is not afraid to throw his youngsters in the deep end as evident with Matteo Guendouzi who, in spite of being a teenager with very little senior experience, played 48 matches in all competitions last season.
