Former Chelsea midfielder and club legend Frank Lampard has told Callum Hudson-Odoi to turn down interest from Bayern Munich or any other team and remain at Stamford Bridge to fight for starting role under Maurizio Sarri.
The 18-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge has been up in the air after English sensation almost finalised transfer to Allianz Arena this winter.
Bayern Munich had three bids rejected by Chelsea for the teenager in January, however, they are ready to test their luck once again in the summer and try to lure 18-year-old winger who has managed to found back of the net 6 times for the Blues in all competitions
Hudson-Odoi has played 17 games for the Blues this term, though just five of those have been in the starting XI and all of them came to the cup competitions.
Lampard has urged the England Under-19s forward to remain at Chelsea and make most of his opportunities that will be give by Maurizio Sarri.
“Firstly, I’d love him to stay at Chelsea.
“He needs to be doing everything to get in that team. Is he working hard and is he developing every day in training and trying to improve? I don’t know him that well but I’m sure that’s the standard at Chelsea he’s going by himself.
“Every minute he gets on the pitch he needs to be doing everything he can. I understand Chelsea fans want to see more of him and he has to do everything he can to give himself the chance of minutes.
“I think at the end of the season he will look back and think what can I do with my career. It’s a mad one because a young English player at Chelsea at that age then you really want him to sign that long-term contract. I hope it can be agreed that he can stay at Chelsea.”
