Aston Villa enter the battle to sign ex-Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge and prepare to make an offer during this summer transfer window. Dean Smith wants to bolster the front-line, and his primary target is England international who left the Merseyside club and became a free agent.

Tammy Abraham came back to Chelsea, and his replacement is necessary. English manager will do everything to sign the centre-forward this summer, but it will be difficult as several clubs like Trabzonspor also keen to sign him. Daniel joined the Reds from Chelsea in 2013 with a €15m deal.

He was an unchanged figure for the club, but after Roberto Firmino arrived in Liverpool, he moved the bench. Last season Sturridge played 27 matches, scored four goals and provided two assists in all competitions. It is an excellent consequence, and he can do much more with his new club.

The 29-year-old striker regularly played in the national team line-up which is already a big success for the footballer. He also won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021. Aston Villa had fantastic result in the Championship as they won the final against Derby County and promoted in the Premier League.

English club already signed Kortney Hause from Wolverhampton, Jota from Birmingham, Björn Engels from Reims, Tom Heaton from Burnley, Anwar El Ghazi from Lille, Trezeguet from Kasimpasa, Marvelous Nakamba from Club Brugge, Ezri Konsa from Brentford, Matt Targett from Southampton, Douglas Luiz from Man City, Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth and Wesley from Club Brugge this summer transfer window.
