Lazio have reportedly turned down Liverpool’s £24million approach for Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Merseyside Reds were impressed by the 22-year-old’s fine form last season and ready to lure him at Anfield. However, Serie A giants are keen on to hold their star players to secure Champions League spot next season.
Earlier this months Liverpool were ready to enquire with Lazio over the availability of 22-year-old midfielder, according to reports from Italy.
Corriere dello Sport suggested that Lazio have turned down the opening offer, reported to be around £24m.
After his eye-catching form the last term, Lazio are believed to have slapped a £62m price tag on his head to fend off interest from top European giants.
That would mean that Reds would have to nearly treble their opening bid for Serbian midfielder who has arrived at Stadio Olimpico as little as £7.5m.
Lazio’s duo Lazio duo Keita Baldé and Stefan de Vrij.have also been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.
According to Italian paper Il Messaggero, via Sport Witness, Liverpool could use the Divock Origi in a deal to convince Lazio duo to arrive at Anfield.
