Kai Havertz has said that he is happy to stay with the current club Bayer Leverkusen for another campaign.
The 20-year-old is widely considered as one of the most talented youngsters in European football after some impressive showings for the Bundesliga club.
The latest reports in Germany have suggested that EPL teams Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are among eight clubs interested in the midfielder.
Havertz also appeared as a target for Bayern Munich towards the end of the transfer market, with several reports in Germany claiming that the German champions were interested in adding the 20-year-old to their ranks.
He didn’t end up completing a transfer to die Roten, who were also heavily connected with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, but said that he was more than happy to remain with the BayArena outfit for the time being.
“They haven’t scared me off,” Kai told Sky in Germany.
“I don’t know exactly what it was like with Timo [Werner], but it just didn’t happen for me this year. I think there were a number of reasons why.
“But I’m happy to be here and stay in Leverkusen for another year. We’ll see what will happen next summer.”
He has been with Bayer Leverkusen since the age of 11, and has become an important player following his first-team debut back in 2016.
Kai can play on either flank, as well as behind the centre-forward and has already earned three senior caps for his country’s national side.
After netting 20 goals and providing seven assists last campaign, Havertz has started this season in a similar vein, notching twice in four matches.
