Chelsea have won the race for Ajax wonderkid Daishawn Redan as he moves to Stamford Bridge, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The 16-year-old forward is regarded as one of the finest talents in Europe, and it’s believed some top Premier League clubs were interested in signing the Dutch starlet.
Man City and Manchester United bot were keeping close tabs on the highly-rated teenager. However, Chelsea have won the race and Redan has joined the Blues U-18 team.
According to Voetbalzone reports, Redan has now signed a contract with Chelsea speculation over his move to PL.
Ajax announced back in March that the 16-year-old wonderkid was leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.
‘We have mapped out a path for him, and there is depth discussions with him and his management,’ Ajax youth coach Said Ouaali revealed.
‘That there is no agreement at the last moment is extremely regrettable. Obviously, they have put something else on their minds.
‘We have made every effort to maintain a great talent as Daishawn for the club, but at some point, it stops.’
Dutch wonderkid has joined the Amsterdam club back in 2009, at the age of eight.
In his first season he found the net for 44 times, and then he repeated the feat in 2013/14 for the under-14s.
