Arsenal have allowed African midfielder Kelechi Nwakali to sign a season-long loan contract with Portuguese giants Porto.
The Gunners starlet has joined them back in 2016 however, the Nigerian is yet to make an impact with the first team, instead of being loaned out to VVV Venlo last term.
Just one goal came from three starts and six substitute appearances in the Eredivisie, and it has led to the Gunners allowing Nwakali to spent a 2017/18 season in Portugal with Porto’s second team.
The 20-year-old told the club’s official website: “My main goal is to develop and evolve as a player, to improve my qualities and the other aspects that I know I need to correct to grow in the way I play. I think FC Porto is the right place to evolve as a player.
“I know Porto very well, because one of my idols always in football played here – Deco. He was a player that I loved to watch and I hope one day being able to meet him and tell him the importance he had in my desire to be a football player.”
Portuguese giants have the option to sign Nwakali on a permanent basis for the next season if he impress.
