Chelsea are keen on England goalkeeping duo Jack Butland and Jordan Pickford as potential replacements for Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Belgium No.1 stopper and World Cup Golden Glove winner Courtois is poised to depart from Chelsea.
The Los Blancos are hunting a £35m deal with the Blues as the ex-Atletico Madrid man wants to stay to Spain’s capital.
Chelsea are subsequently eyeing up a successor in the Blues goal, with Petr Cech and Kasper Schmeichel among those linked.
However, The Sun reported that the Blues are checking out the Merseyside Blues stopper Pickford and Stoke City star Jack Butland.
The English duo were part of Gareth Southgate’s team at the World Cup tournament in Russia.
And the Toffees keeper particularly impressed as England’s No.1 across the tournament.
Pickford’s stock has risen considerably since his switch from Sunderland to Goodison Park last term.
The Sun add he would now cost around £60m but is seen as a long-term solution by Chelsea.
It is believed that 24-year-old Pickford may be tempted to play for a bigger club than Everton.
Butland, meanwhile, would be cheaper after Stoke city’s relegation from Premier League.
Chelsea are keeping their interest in him should Courtois sign for Real Madrid.
