Barcelona reportedly have made contact with Chelsea head-coach Antonio Conte over taking Ernesto Valverde’s hot seat at Nou Camp.
The Catalan giants are believed to have sounded out candidates to take over from former Atletico Bilbao manager if they lost Saturday’s Copa del Rey final meeting with Sevilla.
Don Balon suggests that Valverde’s future at Nou Camp has been depended on the result at Wanda Metropolitano, with a resounding 5-0 win seemingly earning him a remain on his spot.
According to the Spanish outlet, Italian manager was targeted – and may still be under consideration to replace Ernesto Valverde for the next campaign.
Valverde is on course to win a domestic double in his debut season at Nou Camp. However, defeat to AS Roma in the Champions League had left his position at the club uncertain.
Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is likely to leave the Stamford Bridge Stadium after the end of the current campaign despite claiming the Premier League title in his debut season but this term his side likely to miss out on top four finish.
