Liverpool and Arsenal are set to miss out on Sporting Lisbon forward Gelson Martins who is reportedly closing in on a deal with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
The Portugal international was one of the numerous players from Primeira Liga side after their players were attacked by their own fans at the training ground.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal have been strongly linked with signing the Portugal international forward, with some rumours that the North London club have already lodged a bid for his signature.
However, any move to Premier League now looks highly unlikely with Portugues forward close to agreeing on a deal with Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish giants have already secured services of talented French forward Thomas Lemar this summer and, according to Marca, they are on the brink of rubber-stamping an agreement for Portuguese star too.
The 23-year-old forward has found back of the net eight times in 31 league appearances for Sporting last season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal continue the chase for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic whose name has been associated with a move to Premier League in the recent months.
