Maurizio Sarri claims Chelsea have offered Eden Hazard a new contract worth £300,000 a week.
The Belgian is weighing up his options with less two years remaining on his current contract, as the winger harbours serious ambitions to play for Real Madrid. Chelsea blocked Eden Hazard’s exit during the summer, and Maurizio Sarri is willing to keep hold of his most influential player.
Eden Hazard has been in talks with the Blues over a new deal for several months, and Maurizio Sarri revealed the club are on stand-by as the attacker continues to deliberate.
‘It’s up to him,’ the Italian said. ‘The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew.’
The Belgium international has made no secret of his wish to play for Los Blancos but has ruled out any efforts to force his way out of the club.
The 27-year-old winger rubbished rumours he could angle for a January transfer and intends to stay at west London at least until the end of the season.
Eden Hazard is available for selection against Wolves after shaking off an ankle injury that kept him sidelined last week.
