Man Utd starlet Angel Gomes has dropped a hint that he intends to remain at Old Trafford for the long term, despite interest from Premier League direct rivals Chelsea.
The 19-year-old has progressed through the Red Devils academy ranks and has played six first-team games this campaign, the last of which came in the winter transfer window.
Uncertainty surrounds Gomes’s future, however, as he is due to become a free agent after the end of the current campaign.
The West London club have been tipped to make a move for the talented midfielder this summer transfer window, however, he has now claimed that his future lies with the Red Devils.
“I’ve seen it over the years, coming up from the academy and being at United my whole career,” he told teammate Andreas Pereira on Google Hangout.
“It’s what I want to go on to do – win trophies for the club.”
The 20-times English champions are reportedly prepared to offer Gomes £30,000 a per week salary in order to force him to sign a new contract, however, the Blues were believed to be in line to double that offer in order to lure him at Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard keen on to add another English talent to his squad.
