Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their interest in the signing of Stoke City star Jack Butland.
Butland has made 88 appearances for the Potters since his debut back in 2013 however, the 25-year-old England international star is expected to move this summer after they were relegated from the English top-tier.
With Thibaut Courtois future at Stamford Bridge remains up in the air Chelsea are scouting the market for possible replacements.
AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson is wanted by both Liverpool and Chelsea but the Brazilian would reportedly be valued at £79million.
The Daily Mail suggests that England international keeper Jack Butland has emerged as a more economic option ahead of the 2018/19 season.
It’s reported that the Blues made enquiries about Stoke City star earlier this season to discover the potential availability for his signature.
Stoke will demand at least £30million for 25-year-old stopper, a fee which would break Jordan Pickford’s British record for a goalkeeper.
Asked about his plans for the next season Butland responded: ‘I’m contracted to Stoke. I’m really looking forward to this summer and the World Cup is the main part of that.
‘What will be will be, I don’t have anything in the pipeline and there’s no focus on that at the minute.
‘The most important thing for me is being part of a successful England squad and being as big a part of it as I can. That’s my only goal right now.
‘Any time you get called up for England is incredible, especially after a tough season, but regardless of whatever happened in the season a World Cup year is something special for all of us.
