Chelsea are increasingly frustrated at Bayern Munich’s approach for Callum Hudson-Odoi and have slapped a £40million price tag on his head.
The 18-year-old, who is yet to start a Premier League game for the Blues, is keen on joining the German giants. Hudson-Odoi has 18 months to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge, however, sees no route into the Blues’ first team and believes he can emulate Jadon Sancho’s success in Bundesliga.
The Blues are annoyed at the Bavarians ‘aggressive’ pursuit of the forward and believe the German team are working with Hudson-Odoi’s family to convince the kid to make move to Germany.
German champions Bayern Munich have already made three bids for English wonderkid with the third offering coming in at around £30m considering add-ons.
However, though the Blues want to keep the forward, they will begrudgingly accept a bid of around £40m, according to the reports from Britain.
Chelsea hope to spark a bidding war for the starlet and feel £40m is good value after they splashed £57m on Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic.
Nevertheless, losing an academy prospect before he’s established himself at Stamford Bridge reflects poorly on Chelsea.
The West London club have been widely criticised for their loan policy recently and for refusing to hand more firs-team minutes to their academy product.
