Chelsea are allegedly planning to part ways with five senior team players during this summer’s transfer window.
The west London outfit are likely to make multiple changes to the squad in the summer but their plans have been hampered by the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, the Blues are aiming to boost their transfer budget through the sale of unwanted players and ESPN states that Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta, Emerson Palmieri, Michy Batshuayi and Marcos Alonso could head for the exit door.
Bakayoko has been fancied to make the switch to Paris Saint-Germain while Emerson and Alonso are understood to be attracting plenty of interest from the Serie A.
Michy, who has scored just one Premier League goal this season, is also expected to be deemed surplus to requirements. The Belgium international has been linked with both West Ham and Crystal Palace in recent weeks.
Davide is currently recovering from a serious knee injury sustained on loan at Serie A giants AS Roma. He is unlikely to reclaim a first-team spot with Chelsea on his comeback.
Elsewhere, Chelsea summer transfer target Philippe Coutinho’s entourage Kia Joorabchian has revealed that there have been no formal approaches for the Barcelona star so far.
“At the moment, we have not spoken to anybody about any deals whatsoever,” Kia told talkSPORT.
“I think at the moment everyone’s concentration is regarding this pandemic and how football can restart the season in a secure environment and over the health and safety of everybody.
“I think the transfer side of things and where he will go or where people will go will come into play down the line when things have got back to some sort of normality.”
