Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea are reportedly ready to submit a huge €80 million offer to sign the Serie A side Inter Milan central defender Milan Skriniar.
According to a report from sports television channel Sky Sports, as quoted on Calciomercato, the Blues are said to be stepping up their reported interest in the defender.
Another Premier League outfit Manchester United have been hoping to sign the player, who has been making an impression in Serie A this campaign, either in the January or summer window.
His impressive performances are not going unnoticed, with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and La Liga champions Barcelona also said to be admirers.
The Blues have also been aware of the star for some time, with their interest dating back into the previous year.
Maurizio Sarri has been keen to bolster defensively since taking over at Stamford Bridge after missing out on the landing of Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani over the summer transfer market.
Rugani’s compatriot Alessio Romagnoli has been connected with a move to London recently, but the Blues face a fight to tempt him away from Milan.
