Chelsea have reportedly enquired about the availability of Serie A giants AS Roma winger Cengiz Under.
According to Turkish Football, Chelsea have earmarked the player as an ideal replacement for the Turkish wonderkid who has impressed the European heavyweights following his fine form.
The West London club are believed to be planning for life without the 27-year-old superstar, with an inevitable move to the Los Blancos looking more and more likely ahead of the upcoming transfer window this summer.
The Blues have already secured services of USA international forward Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, but the club are still expected to be active in the summer transfer window an bring in another forward to strengthen their offensive end.
Turkish international forward has been strongly rumoured with a move to the English top-tier in recent months. However, talk of a move away from Serie A has gone quiet after the emergence of Argentinian wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo, who has somewhat stolen Under’s limelight at the Stadio Olimpico.
Under has three years left on his current deal with the Italian giants and the report claims that AS Roma are trying to get him to extend his stay at Stadio Olimpico.
Meanwhile, Under has been also rumoured with a switch to Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool and Chelsea face stiff competition from their arch-rivals to get the deal done for the 21-year-old forward.
