Chelsea appear ready to step up their interest in securing services of Ligue 1 giants Marseille star Boubacar Kamara.
According to Mercato 365, the Blues scouts watched the versatile defender in action this weekend.
The West London officials were believed to be at the Stade Gaston Gerard during the Marseille 2-1 victory.
The versatile defender started alongside Duje Caleta-Car and was booked at the late stage of the game.
The report suggested that the Blues are keen to continue scouting the defender and see his progress ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Other scouts from Premier League teams were also at the game, however, the report does not clarify if they were on the stands to keep tabs on Kamara or any other player.
The Blues are likely to be in the market for a new defender when the summer transfer window will be re-opened.
Gary Cahill is set to depart from the team at the end of his current contract, which expires at the end of the 2018/19 season.
There are also concerns over the futures of Andreas Christensen and David Luiz.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and Man Utd have reportedly been given hope of securing services of Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho from La Liga giants Barcelona this summer.
Former Inter Mila nand Liverpool forward has completed a dream move to Camp Nou during the January transfer window after Spanish giants agreed to pay Liverpool an initial £105million to secure his services.
While he won the three titles in the first few months of his career at La Liga giants, Coutinho is now being rumoured with departure from the club after a frustrating season at Nou Camp.
