Chelsea are hopeful that they can convince English winger Callum Hudson-Odoi to remain at the club for a long time by offering him the No.10 shirt that will be vaccinated after Eden Hazard completes his move to Real Madrid in the summer.
The 28-year-old winger has reportedly agreed on personal teams with La Liga giants Real Madrid already and even though they are yet to reach a compromise with the West London club over a fee for the Belgian attacker, the deal is expected to go through. Losing former Lille forward would be a massive blow for the Blues considering his form this campaign, however, the club are making plans to build a new-look side around Hudson-Odoi, so long as ties himself down to a long-term deal.
The 18-year-old forward was the subject of four separate bids from German champions Bayern Munich during the January transfer window and even handed in a transfer request at Chelsea to try and push through a move.
Hudson-Odoi’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire in 2020 and although he has turned down their previous offers about the contract extension, according to the Mail claims that meetings are scheduled to take place between the agent of the player and the club board.
Chelsea are hoping that they can convince Calum Hudson-Odoi to stick around by giving him a prestigious No.10 shirt and a more prominent role in the side than he has enjoyed under the Italian boss this campaign,
Hudson-Odoi is likely to miss the start of next campaign after suffering a ruptured Achilles injury earlier this season.
