Arsenal are reportedly confident that Walse International midfielder Aaron Ramsey will sign a new deal at the club, despite interest from some of Europe’s top teams including the Gunners direct Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Ramsey has one year left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and will be free to discuss terms with foreign teams during the January transfer window.
La Liga giants Barcelona and Serie A club Lazio are among the teams to have been strongly linked with the Gunners no.8, while there is also believed to be serious interest from a number of Chinese Super League teams.
The Noth London club’s Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man Utd are all thought to be keeping tabs on Ramsey’s situation too, however, The Mirror reports that the Gunners are confident of keeping him at Emirates Stadium.
The Walse international attacker is reportedly willing to bide his time to improve his bargaining position as he holds out for an offer in excess of £250,000 per week.
Arsenal gave Mesut Ozil a new contract worth £350,000 a week in January, and Ramsey believes that he also deserves a significant pay rise following a 10-year stay at the club.
