Chelsea dealt a major blow in pursuit of 26-year-old versatile midfielder

Chelsea have reportedly been dealt a huge transfer blow in their pursuit of AS Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi.

According to Calciomercato, Alessandro Florenzi who has been recently rumoured with a switch to Chelsea set to sign a new contract with the Italian giants.

Florenzi has joined the AS Roma youth academy at the age of 11 back in 2002 and gradually progressed through the ranks of the Italian setup till 2012 . After a successful loan spell at Crotone, Florenzi has finally established himself at Stadio Olimpico.

Since then, Italian midfielder has gone from strength to strength with the Serie A outfit, and now has been also regular for the country. This term, the player has made 16 appearances in all competitions for As Roma scoring one goal and assisting twice.

His exploits have not gone unnoticed, with Florenzi has appeared on the radar of hosts of European giants including defending Premier League champions, with Antonio Conte is keen on to sign Italian midfielder.

However, Chelsea have been dealt a huge transfer blow in their pursuit of Florenzi, with the player is reportedly closing in on a new five-year deal.

Chelsea board hold meeting with pacy Bundesliga winger ahead of January move

Chelsea’s board have held a meeting with Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey to discuss a potential move to Stamford Bridge in January.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both linked with signing Jamaican all summer long.

The 20-year-old has been in stunning form for the German club this campaign with four goals and four assists in just 12 games for the Bundesliga giants.

The Jamaican winger has also attracted strong interest from Spanish giants Barcelona who are seeking a long-term replacement for departed Neymar.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea scouts kept a close eye on Bailey in Leverkusen’s 2-0 win over Stuttgart last weekend.

The report also suggested that on the same day, the Blues hierarchy got together to discuss the prospect of signing Jamaican winger during the January transfer window.

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Bailey could leave the club for £20 million and Liverpool alongside with Man Utd have emerged as one of the main favourites to sign the talented winger. And now their Premier League rivals, Chelsea have also joined the race.

As part of the deal, Defending Premier League champions are reportedly considering the option of loaning Bailey back to Leverkusen for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.

Bailey is a regular on Leverkusen’s wing, and his pace could help him easily to adapt Premier League football.

Liverpool are keen on to sign a replacement for Coutinho, while Manchester and Chelsea want to add sharpness to their offensive end.

Antonio Conte Ready to Allow 24-year-old to Leave Club in January

Belgium international forward Michy Batshuayi is set to leave defending Premier League champions on loan during the January transfer window.

Former Marseille forward barely featured under Antonio Conte last campaign and despite his time increased this season Belgian forward is keen on to secure the regular first-team football in order to secure a place at Belgium squad ahead of World-Cup 2018.

He is still behind of Alvaro Morata and Belgian is desperate to secure first-team minutes.

According to The Sun, Conte has informed Batshuayi that he will be allowed to leave the club on a temporary basis during the January transfer window.
