Official: Chelsea prospect signs new deal and immediately head out on loan

Chelsea youngster Luke McCormick has joined Shrewsbury Town on a season-loan deal after being convinced by the team’s coaching staff led by the manager Frank Lampard, Football Insider can reveal.

Football Insider revealed this morning that the EPL giants were in advanced negotiations with the 20-year-old midfield rising star over an extension to his contract before planning to loan him out.

It was subsequently announced by the Blues on their official website that the deal had been penned and McCormick was headed to League One side for the season.

A Blues source has told Football Insider that the terms of the deal were agreed after Lampard convinced Luke that Shrewsbury were the right team for him ahead of rival suitors.

Luke has come through the ranks at the west London, but has yet to make a senior team appearance for the club.

A host of Football League clubs have made enquiries about landing McCormick on loan this summer, but the talent have trumped them all in what is considered as a major coup.

The loan move will be his first loan away from the Blues and manager Lampard is convinced the ace will benefit by going away and getting valuable senior team experience under his belt.

McCormick has impressed for the club’s youth sides in the latest seasons and he was highly enough rated to be handed his first professional deal in January 2017.

He was entering the final year of that contract, but the club management have high hopes he can eventually challenge for the main team as they have tied him down to a fresh deal.

La Liga giants still interested in signing £120,000-a-week Chelsea star

Barcelona are plotting a move for Chelsea winger Willian with the star’s future currently hanging in the air, the reports say.

Willian is one of the Blues’ longest-serving players, and has been a mainstay for the west London outfit over the last six seasons.

Since joining from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala for £30 million in August 2013, the 30-year-old has gone on to make 292 matches, winning a host of accolades.

But his time at Chelsea could soon be up. The South American star has just one year left to run on his deal.

And new Blues manager Frank Lampard is yet to green light a contract extension for the Brazil international. It’s thought that Frank will make a decision on his future once he has seen him in training.

The star is yet to be a part of the Blues’ pre-season preparations having earned a late call-up to his country’s Copa America winning squad.

Chelsea return from their tour of Japan next week, with the tricky attacker set to join them then.

And the Sun reports that Frank is yet to rubber-stamp a new contract as he wants to see how the player fits in to his plans for the campaign.Blaugrana are long-term admirers of him and had a bid rejected for Wilian in January. The Catalan giants are also considering the future of several of their attackers.

The Brazilian star duo Malcom and Philippe Coutinho have been connected with summer moves to the Premier League.

Highly-rated goalkeeper keen on leaving Chelsea in search of first-team football

Chelsea U23s shot-stopper Nicolas Tie is keen on a loan switch to France this summer transfer window in order to play senior football next campaign.

The youngster joined the Chelsea academy back in 2017 and has a contract until the summer of 2021 with the west London side.

Still just 18, the Ivorian star is far away from being in the plans of manager Frank Lampard and he’s keen to get a taste of senior football next campaign.

According to a French outlet Foot Mercato, Nicolas has been batting for a loan transfer to France this summer in order to feature in first-team football.

His agents have stated their request to the Blues and the club’s academy managers also feel the young shot-stopper needs a loan move this summer.

A transfer to the second tier of French football has been mooted and there’re suggestions that several Ligue 2 sides could look to sign him.

Tie is presently training with the club’s Under-23s and set to feature in a pre-season friendly versus French side Rennes tonight. He featured in the U18 EPL last season for Chelsea.

Meantime, Frank Lampard has suffered his first setback as Blues manager courtesy of a 1-0 defeat to the Japanese outfit Kawasaki Frontale in Friday’s pre-campaign friendly in Japan.

The club had the better of the contest at the Yokohama Stadium, but a late strike from Leandro Damiao earned the J-League giants a famous victory in front of a crowd of 61,012.
