Reported Chelsea target and Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj is in talks to secure a new contract at Italian giants, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
The defender was rumoured with a move to Chelsea during the January transfer window. However, a move has never been materalised.
There has still been speculation claiming that he could make a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The West London club have suffered a massive blow in their quest to secure the services of the Albanian defender, though, with the news that Italian giants are keen to tie him down with a new deal.
Albania international defender and his agent are set to meet with the club to discuss the new deal this during the international break, with his current deal expiring in 2021.
The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of best defenders in Serie A, having shone for Napoli since his transfer from Empoli back in 2015.
Hysaj has played 158 games for the Serie A heavyweights, as well as winning 42 caps for his country thus far.
Meanwhile, Chelsea eyeing move for another Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne who has been linked with an exit from Stadio Sao Paolo after the end of the current campaign.
