Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle Chelsea for the services of Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell during the summer transfer window.
The England international defender is expected to depart from Brendan Rodgers die ahead of the 2020-21 season, and both Man City and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in his signature.
However, according to The Sun, the 20-times English champions are ready to ‘battle it out’ with Chelsea for the left-back, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to build a title-winning squad for the next campaign.
The 23-year-old full-back has been in stunning form for Brendan Rodgers’s side during the 2019-20 campaign, founding back of the net three times and providing four assists in 33 games in all competitions.
Leicester City are believed to value Ben Chilwell around £60m and are in a perfect position when it comes to negotiations as they have the defender on a deal until June 2024.
Luke Shaw is currently the Red Devils first-choice left-back, and the ex-Southampton man is arguably enjoying his most productive campaign for the club since joining them back in 2014.
Frank Lampard meanwhile sees Ben Chilwell as a perfect replacement to Marcos Alonso whose future seems to be up in the air.
Both Man Utd and Chelsea are in the battle for the Champions League spot ahead of the next season and it could be decisive in Ben Chilwell’s decision which team to join.
