After promoting Jake Clarke-Salter to Chelsea’s squad Antonio Conte decided to reward another youngster Kyle Scott for his hard work.
Scott, who joined the Chelsea from Southampton at the age of 9, has been invited to train with the Blues first-team members in the recent weeks and seems to have impressed Antonio Conte.
The USA U-21 international midfielder was recently named in the Blues Champions League squad for the 2017/18 season.
Scott will wear the No.36 shirt at Stamford Bridge and with Italian manager confirmed that he would rotate his squad this month 19-year-old midfielder might have a chance to play first-team football for defending Premier League champions.
‘It is necessary to rotate, seven games in 21 days is not easy,’ Conte said before Chelsea’s 6-0 thumping of Qarabag.
‘You risk a lot. The risk could be to play with the same players I did against Leicester and then the question would be: “why didn’t you change the team?”
‘This is our job. We must use our eyes and our previous experience as player and coach. If you win, it was the best decision. If you lose, it was the worst decision.’
