Brazilian sensation Bruno Guimaraes has found back of the net in front of a Chelsea scout in action for Athletico Paranaense Wednesday night game at the Copa do Brasil, according to the reports.
The Brazilian is a rising star in his country and his release clause currently has been around £36million. According to GloboEsporte,
The West London club had eyes in the Athletico box when Athletico took on Internacional. Guimaraes, the 21-year-old defensive midfielder was the difference in the first leg of the final, producing a confident finish in the 58th minute after a slick one-two.
The West London club have scouted Guimaraes five times ahead of a move for the defensive midfielder.
‘The interest of other teams, I see that it’s normal when the person has been playing well,’ Guimaraes said after the game.
‘I leave that in the hands of my agents. I’m happy at Athletico and focused on the final.’
Frank Lampard’s side will face stiff competition from Shakhtar, Italian giants Inter Milan and Napoli for Guimaraes’ services, however, the West London club are currently unable to put forward any proposal to secure his services.
A transfer ban is still in place and although the Blues are hopeful it may be reduced and they will be able to make addition in January as they are preparing an appeal in the court.
