The London giants have reportedly intensified talks in recent times over a possible transfer swoop for Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford.
Expected to cost nearly £44m, the 26-year-old shot-stopper has emerged as one of the London club’s top targets to replace the struggling Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Jordan has mostly looked a fine performer for club and country in recent years, though his form for the Toffees did look like taking a bit of a dip this campaign before the season had to be suspended due to the covid19 pandemic.
It stays to be seen if Pickford can get back to his best, but it looks the Blues rate him highly and have been in negotiations to try to bring him to London club.
England international could well be an upgrade on Kepa, who has proven a real disappointment in his short time in Chelsea, having lost his place to Willy Caballero for a few matches this term.
The TMW report adds that the Blues could try selling the Spanish shot-stopper, or even sending him out on loan as they seek to bring in a new number one. Frank Lampard wants to bolster the squad during the summer transfer window.
