Chelsea are looking to secure services of Benfica rising star Joao Felix before the attacking midfielder signs a new contract, according to the Mirror.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been offered a new contract which will see his release clause increase around £105m, and the deal could be signed on Monday.
However, Felix current release clause is £45 million, with Chelsea head-coach Maurizio Sarri keen on to pay.
Portuguese sensation has appeared in five times for Benfica this campaign and has impressed, by founding back of the net against Sporting Lisbon and Aves.
The teenager, who can operate as a second striker and on the left wing, is regarded as one of Europe’s future stars, with lots of European teams in Spain and France also keeping an eye on the creative attacking midfielder.
Fellow Premier League club West Ham United attempted to sign Felix to England last month, but, with Benfica keen on to get as much value for their star asset as possible,
Chelsea faces a competition against time in their attempts to secure services of the Portuguese sensation for as little as possible.
