Newcastle United have reportedly identified Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha as one of their top transfer target this summer despite rumours linking him with a switch to Chelsea and Arsenal.
Zaha has made no secret of his desire to depart from the Eagles Palace for a bigger team in recent windows, although links to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham have so far come to nothing.
The London club have placed a £60m price tag on their key player in an attempt to ward off interest, however, the Daily Mail claims that Newcastle would be willing to meet that asking price as they could become the richest club in the Premier League.
The Magpies are currently waiting for FA approval over a £300m takeover and, should that go through, they are expected to undergo a massive squad overhaul this summer.
Zaha’s desire to play Champions League football could be a problem for the Magpies, although Newcastle are hopeful of appointing Mauricio Pochettino as a head-coach to spearhead a challenge for the top four in the coming years.
The 27-year-old forward has made 30 appearances for Palace this campaign, scoring three goals and creating five assists.
Chelsea and Arsenal also eyeing a move for another Crystal Palace ace Jeffrey Schlupp.
