Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi will reportedly not be leaving from Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window.
The 25-year-old has managed to found back of the net 19 times in 53 games for the Blues, but he has spent time out on loan with Crystal Palace, Valencia and Borussia Dortmund since moving to Stamford Bridge.
There had been suggestions that the Belgian forward would depart from Stamford Bridge for another loan spell this summer, having found it tough to earn a regular spot with the London club.
However, Alvaro Morata’s exit from Chelsea and Gonzalo Higuain’s return to Serie A champions, Juventus has left the Blues – currently under a transfer ban the Blues are unable to register any new player and Batshuayi could be handed chance to play regular first-team football under new head-coach Frank Lampard.
As a result, according to Goal.com, Belgian forward will remain with the Blues this summer with a view to battling Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham for the starting centre-forward role during the 2019-20 season.
The Belgian, who has been contracted with the Chelsea until the summer of 2021, has scored five goals in 11 Premier League games for the Eagles in the second half of last campaign, however, this season he might have chance to impress former Derby head-coach.
