Aston Villa want Gary Cahill following his release from Chelsea.
The former England international is out of contract at the Stamford Bridge club and is leaving the London side, as announced on the official website of the outfit.
The 33-year-old is in demand, with West Ham and Aston Villa reported to be interested in the veteran.
According to The Mirror, the Hammers want to bring Gary Cahill to the London Stadium this summer.
And if the former Bolton Wanderers star joins Aston Villa, he will play in the Premier League next season after the Championship side won the promotion from the Championship via the playoffs.
Gary Cahill started his professional career at the Villans, and the former Chelsea striker Cascarino thinks that the defender will find a club in the top-flight: “Gary will get a club. He will be in the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea have opened talks with Frank Lampard as the Blues are searching for a manager after Maurizio Sarri departs to Juventus.
It has been claimed that the Italian will leave for the Serie A champions, but the Old Lady will have to pay £5 million compensation fee to Chelsea.
The Premier League giants are willing the former midfielder to lead the club until the transfer ban is held, but the club board fear that the Englishman will not have success because of his lack of experience in the management.
The 40-year-old has only managed Derby County and almost achieved the promotion to the Premier League only losing to Aston Villa in Wembley final.
