Bayern Munich eyeing move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti who has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge Stadium in the recent games.
The Ligue 1 star has been a subject of big money move to Chelsea in the recent months, however, Bayern Munich have identified Verratti as a replacement for Xabi Alonso who is set to retire from Professional football, according to the Bild reports.
Earlier this month Alonso Stunned Bayern Munich with his decision to leave football at the end of the current campaign and now Carlo Ancelotti has to sign a new midfielder with the same qualities as Spaniard.
Chelsea have been linked with £68.2 million for Italian superstar and the Blues manager Antonio Conte thought to have identified him as a No.1 transfer target in the summer.
Verratti is under contract with PSG until 2021 with the French champions in no rush to cash in on one of their most important players.
Bayern are still hopeful they can convince Alonso to prolong his plans to retire for another season, but are now looking for a summer replacement and have been tracking Verratti for several months.
Verratti is well known to Chelsea manager Antonio Conte as they have worked together on the international level.
