Arsenal are reportedly preparing to battle Chelsea for the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s winger Leon Bailey.
The 22-year-old Jamaican forward has found back of the net seven times in 22 games at club level during the 2019-20 season.
The West London club are believed to be interested in securing the services of the attacker during this summer’s transfer window and are allegedly prepared to pay £85m for his signature.
However, according to The Express, the North London club are also keeping tabs on the Jamaica international forward ahead of the 2020-21 season.
The report, though, suggests that Mikel Arteta’s team would only be able to afford Leon Bailey should they sell team captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Aubameyang, who only has little over 12 months left to run on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, could reportedly be available for £50m ahead of the next campaign.
Meanwhile, Man City and Chelsea are reportedly willing to spend big to beat Spanish giants Barcelona to the signing of Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
The 22-year-old forward is a confirmed target for Spanish giants Barca due to his fine form since joining Inter Milan from Racing back in 2018.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are also rumoured to have lined up a move for the Argentine international forward, who has found back of the net 16 times in all competitions this season.
However, Spanish outlet Sport reports that the Blues and the Citizens have now entered the running for the Argentina international star.
