Liverpool are interested in signing of Southampton versatile midfielder Mario Lemina who has been rumoured with a switch to Arsenal all summer long.
The 24-year-old midfielder completed a club-record £15.4million move to the Saints from Serie A defending champions Juventus last season and Lemina has managed to found the back of the net for once in 19 appearances for Pellegrino’s side.
The Gabon international midfielder was strongly linked with the Gunners before joining Southampton, however, according to L’Équipe, Arsene Wenger’s side have now cooled their interest in his signature.
However, it’s claimed that Gabon international midfielder is now firmly on the Merseyside Reds radar, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp plotting a move for the 24-year-old defensive midfielder at the end of the current campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already poached Rickie Lambert,, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane from Southampton in recent campaigns.
Dutch international centre-back became the most expensive defender of all-time when he completed a £75million move to Anfield back in January. The Merseyside Reds have already completed the signing of Naby Keita who will join the club on July 1.
Emre Can is expected to depart from the Anfield this summer and Lemina could be a perfect replacement for his signature.
